To expand the achievements and experiences of the 'Malala Fund' program promoted by the Pakistani government to increase the enrollment rate in elementary school students, particularly for girls, and to build the foundation for equal and inclusive quality education led by the provincial government and local communities, KOICA has been promoting the Support for National Capacity Building to Realize Girls' Rights to Education project in concert with UNESCO.

The project ‘Support for National Capacity Building to Realize Girls' Rights to Education aims to provide high-quality education to girls from about 100 schools in four districts. It supports raising awareness about the importance of elementary education in local communities, strengthening the management and operational capacity of the school steering committees that consist of parent-teacher members, improving the education environment of elementary schools including water and sanitation facilities, applying activity-based pedagogy in elementary schools, and strengthening the administrative capacity of local offices of education.

It is expected to contribute to achieve a key agenda for theinternational educational development in the COVID-19 era: ensuring educational equity through increasing access to education for underprivileged children. To do this, KOICA will continuously share the valuable achievements of educational support for female students worldwide, which has been getting special attention since led by Malala Yousafzai, the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize winner.
