Asselema! My name is Moonjung Choi, Country Director of KOICA Tunisia office. It is with great privilege to welcome you to prestigious Tunisia, a country of symbolic figure of democratization in the Arab region. With one fifth of South Korean population, Tunisia’s geographical area is smaller than the Korean Peninsula but larger thanSouth Korea. Nonetheless, genesis to the ancient Carthaginian Empire, Tunisia maintains its cultural pride as a 'roofless museum' attracting just as much tourists as its total population from neighboring countries, including Europe. Inspired by South Korea’s achievement in democratization and economic development in a short period,Tunisia has madediverse efforts for national development. KOICA Tunisia Office currently implements various cooperation projects on two key sectors environment/energy focusing on renewable energy; and e-government-oriented governance for the sustainable economic and social development of Tunisia. In addition, through the KOICA cooperation projects in invitational training of Tunisian civil servants to Korean and dispatch of Korean volunteers to Tunisia, we have acted as a bridge and strengthened friendship between the two countries. KOICA Tunisia Office will continue to explore and implement effective projects, serving as a stepping stone for the development of bilateral relations. Thank you!
